All of the artwork is painted by me (except for the circle Aubie painting resting on the ground)- most of the pieces were gifts to Mister Hubbs while we were still dating in college. The huge football painting was painted specifically for this room. I knew we wanted an Auburn Football themed room, so this would be the big statement piece. I HATED PAINTING it. But he likes it, so it's worth it!
The bookcases behind the sofa contain our OBSCENE DVD collection. I covered all of the cases with cream and white paper and wrote the name on the spine for a more unified look. The bookcases are from World Market, I painted the exterior white and kept the shelves dark wood. I also added mirrors to the top opening of each bookcase to bounce light around and create more depth.
I kept to creams, whites and other natural tones to style these bookcases.
I love this vintage Auburn trunk. I got it for $20 at a Birmingham antique shop and still adore it.
Here are photos of the room in progress...
On the TV side of the room, we have a Restoration Hardware Aviator chair to add more seating- this was definitely a splurge but well worth it! (this photo was taken before getting the new Trunk coffee table). I also gave Mister Husband all of these framed prints for Christmas to fill out this side of the room. I framed vintage Auburn Gameday posters as well as tickets to special games that we had attended.
