Hello abode lovers and happy Friday! I am SO excited that my shows start again next week... Parenthood, here I come! Anyone else watch the MTV Music awards last night out of sheer boredom? I mean, I have had enough of politics yall.... Mister Husband was very impressed concerned about how many of the songs I knew word for word that were being played...
ANYWAY, I am SO excited to share the details of the new rug in my living room! As many of you already know, I splurged a few months ago (my birthday month with a 15% coupon) on this gorgeous Gloria's Garden rug from Anthropologie and have decided that I really like it, a lot. I have blogged about this rug several times in the past few years, and after waiting almost 4 months for this beauty to arrive, I couldn't be happier with the outcome!
The Bianca pillow (the hot pink one) also from Anthropologie was a buy that I felt like I HAD to make... the pillows I had before were much more monotoned and didn't really go with the new, vibrant rug. So I bought one pillow, switched out another pillow from our spare bedroom and wah-lah! Much better....
I also decided to switch back to my old lampshade-- I also had this baby in our spare bedroom and decided that the shade I was using before may be a little too matchy-matchy with the rug.... the jury's still out on this decision, but I think I like the lighter one for now.
I would LOVE to buy one more pillow... I know, it's a problem... but I really feel like the chaise lounge needs a pop of bright color...
Or maybe I just need a different throw that's not a pastel?
or maybe this gorgeous guy???
See that center pillow? That's an oldie but a goodie... it's been living in our spare bedroom for years now!
Here's a quick reminder of what the room looked like before...
and this was the pillow arrangement...
and here are a few more angles of the space for those of you who asked...
I hope all of you abode lovers have a fabulous Friday and a great weekend! I will be working on several projects this weekend, so here's hoping for a productive few days!

I love it. I am all about the Anthro rugs. I got my sister to buy one for her LR and she loves it. I think your house looks so unique and beautiful.

I LOVE the new rug! It really did warm up the room! Also, noticed the dark french doors- did you paint those or were they always black? I love them too!
ReplyDeleteI did paint the doors! It was a while ago- and I still have just a few more to paint in the ole abode-- but I really love the way the high gloss black looks on all of my interior doors!
DeleteI love this. So much!
ReplyDeleteJEalous!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat rug looks darling in your space. I like how you referenced, & I quote, "Your birthday month..." I am the same way and my husband teases me that my birthday lasts an entire month! Ha. This is just how we girls are... spoiled rotten!
ReplyDeletelove love love it!
ReplyDeleteWow! This room looks SOOOO good! I want a living room that looks like this!!! It's amazing what a difference 2 pillows make in addition to that beautiful rug. Sigh... jealous... I thought your living room looked so great before, and I would have told you BEFORE to change nothing, but MAN this looks 10 times better.
ReplyDeleteThe rug looks awesome in your room! I, too, ahve a BIG problem with throw pillows:):) XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteit is so colorful in there now and i LOVE it! that rug...while definitely a splurge seems to be totally worth it!
ReplyDeleteGORG!
I am absolutely dying for an update on this rug. I too have loved it for months and the color is just perfect for my living room but I've been really squared off by the bad reviews some have left for it on the Anthro site. It seems like a lot of people are complaining about pulls and snags in the rug after just a short while. I have a big dog and an active toddler so paying $1,200 for a rug only to have it snag is so not cool. I know you've got a big dog in your life as well so I'm wondering how it's holding up. Please let me know!
ReplyDeleteHoly Cow!!!! What a difference the rug makes. It was gorgeous before and now it's beyond stunning. Ugh, do I love your living room. I can stare at every detail for hours. Thanks for sharing. Xo
