DING! DING! DING! DING! You were right Launa @ A Place and a Space! I finally ordered the Glorias Garden rug from Anthropologie! I loved the guessing game... that was fun :) I'm going to share more photos a bit later, the abode is a MESS and it needs a good cleaning before I take new photos-- so hang in there abode lovers, more pics to come!
When I finally decided I was going to order this big ole rug-- I decided that I would wait until June (my birthday month) because you get a 15% discount on your purchase that month! I needed as big of a discount as I could get, this rug is more than a splurge-- it's just plain ridiculous. As Mister Husband says, you can't talk sense to crazy, so I ordered it regardless of that fact that we already have a beautiful rug in our living room. When I went to order the rug, my size was gone. It was the saddest day ever. It was JUST there the day before and I was having a really hard time coping.
Miraculously, a week into July, the rug came back-- on backorder of course, but it was BACK! So, I called Anthro and told them my sad story and that I still really needed to use my birthday discount even though it was no longer June.... and they did it! I got my 15% off! 2 LONG months later of the backorder date being pushed back several times, it arrived....
Here is a post that I did almost 2 years ago about the round version of this rug... hilarious! THAT is how obsessed I've been with this rug....
Here is a post about Valerie's dining room where I used the Glorias Garden rug and she has loved hers for a year now!
Now that you can tell that I was seriously into this rug... here it is in MY living room!
I love that it adds more color and life to the space, but is it too dark??
This is the Pottery Barn rug that used to live there...
Thoughts? As I said before, I promise to share more photos in a bit, but does anyone have any reactions right away??? Thanks for the input abode lovers.... I've been so obsessed with this rug for SO long that I'm not sure I can be objective. Have a great Thursday!

Such a lovely rug! My gut reaction is I actually like that it's darker than your old rug--brings in a little more depth. Can't wait to see more pics!
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful! So you! I think you just need to get use to having more color in there!

It's been in my anthro cart for a year, my hubs isn't as easily convinced as yours! I LOVE it. And love it in your space! Yay for you. I'm totally jealous.

I think it looks fabulous in your living room!!! Beautiful rug!
ReplyDeleteNot too dark at all! I love it! Maybe you think it's dark bc your previous one was light?
ReplyDeleteI always say, "get exactly what you want, and you'll never be disappointed!"
I don't think it's too dark! It really livens up the room. Makes the old rug look very "yawn and stuffy". Great choice. :)
ReplyDeleteNot too dark at all - it looks awesome and grounds the room better than the lighter one, I think. And I love it with the mirrored coffee table. Worth the wait, for sure!
ReplyDeleteDEFINITELY not too dark. As someone else said, it will probably just take a bit to grow on you since it's certainly making the space look different than your previous rug (in a good way I think!) I love all the colors it introduces and the pattern is so practical for hiding stains, etc (spoken as someone who has a 70lb dog, a toddler and another boy on the way, that's important if you're going to spend $$$ on a rug!)
ReplyDeleteOK honest injun- it's exactly the splashy thing you needed. It's darker and moodier, but that's what makes it such a good choice. The fuschias and raspberries in the rug pull the pillow on the sofa. A+ And also...your Tigers are going down this Saturday! :) I will be there cheering for MY Tigers!!
ReplyDeleteI think if you are in love with it - and sounds like you have been a long time - it needs to come home with you!! I think it is pretty awesome rug!!
ReplyDeleteNot too dark at all. Your eyes will adjust to it since you've had a light rug for a long time. I think it adds so much to your room. Worth the wait, for sure!
ReplyDeleteI knew it! It looks really good! I want to see some more pictures. It does look really good with your pillows. I have got to find some pillows for my sofa!
ReplyDelete"I love that it adds more color and life to the space, but is it too dark??"
ReplyDeleteNope, not at all! It's perfect. Great choice! Looks like it was meant to be there.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE it in your living room...it's perfect, not too dark at all. Cozy is the word. Can't wait to see more pictures of it...from all angles please :-)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!!! The colors and pattern brighten the space. So beautiful and fun.
ReplyDeleteThe change is dramatic, but in a very good, positive way. I love the way the rug looks in your room, and the room is significantly enhanced by the rug. It is young, hip, and courageous!
ReplyDeleteI've been in love with this rug for a while now also. It's beautiful and looks great in your living room! I don't think it's too dark at all. The tall ceilings and neutral furnishings seem to welcome this rug with open arms. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI don't think it looks too dark at all! I'm sure because it's the complete opposite of your previous rug, you're in a bit of a visual shock. I think the dark moodiness is perfect for going into the fall/winter season. You can always change up your rugs with the seasons!
