Me, cheering with delight-- and yes, I am standing on the counter in my boots. So sanitary.
I ordered these way before Christmas, but they are custom sizes, so it took time. It was definitely worth the wait. "Where did I get them?" you ask? JCPENNEY! Can you believe it? HERE is the link.
My windows can't wait. They're sick and tired of their white, skank blinds. One day, I will be replacing all of the blinds throughout the abode with these lovely shades. I hope all of my abode lovers have had a fantastic Thursday!

I can't wait to see them up! I love bamboo shades. I want to get some for my bay window in my family room.

I have a fascination with natural textured items, so i LOVE bamboo blinds. I have had THIS EXACT one in my bathroom for 3 years and can say 2 things about them.
ReplyDelete#1- They are gorgeous!
#2- They don't last as well as the white faux wood ones. Because the backside is in the sun on a daily basis, mine is no longer dark on the out facing side. It's more orangey now. And because of the sun, the cord that brings it up and down dry-rotted in about 2 years. So while the blind is still there, I can't raise it up and down anymore.
Still yet I love the looks. You can see it in my post here> http://www.imsimplysarah.blogspot.com/2011/07/ready-to-shower.html
I love my bamboo shades. I splurged on them for my great room and kitchen and couldn't be happier. I found mine at Overstock and even with shipping to Canada they were cheaper then anything I could have found locally.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see how the look. You won't be sorry. :)
Lucky girl! Oh yeah, and your backsplash is nothing short of amazing.
ReplyDeleteI've had bamboo blinds in the packaging since this summer! Guess who STILL has not put them up? This girl. Your post was just what I needed...they are going up this weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Simply Sarah on point #2...I have the exact ones and they don't last like I wish they would. Mine are on old windows and they definitely do not keep heat in or out at all. But they are gorgeous! And inexpensive! They are totally impractical in our master bathroom, but I love the look so much I can't bear to switch :) I think it's good that you just have 1 to do a trial run, just in case you need something more.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see them when they're up!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! Yes, I need some too! Happy Thursday to you to!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I would love to do the same thing! I am going over to Penneys website right now! Thanks!!!! XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteI've caught the bamboo shades bug as well. I first got them for my dining room when we first moved in last year and after LOVING them we just got them in a lighter shade for our bedroom. There could be future purchases in our future because they're just that awesome!
ReplyDeletewhy do you call things "skank"
ReplyDeleteThe bamboo looks great! We have put the JC Penny blinds in both our old house and new cottage! Love them and they seem to hold up quite nicely!
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous! LOL at "skank blinds":)
ReplyDeleteI love Bamboo shades...have always had them and recently decorated a friends bedroom and convinced her to also get bamboo shades. Can't wait to see them on...great color too :-)
ReplyDeleteLOVE them!!!!
ReplyDeleteBamboo anything I say. Love them.
ReplyDeleteEver since I read this post I've been thinking about replacing my white blinds... only thing I'm concerned about is we live in Atlanta (in city, not burbs) and I'm concerned about privacy and sketchballs being able to look through my blinds when they are down. Can you see through yours? Even if I was to draw my curtains they are unlined burlap so that wouldn't help much either...
ReplyDeleteHey Amy,
DeleteYou can definitely still see through our bamboo shades-- but I have seen people back them with black out fabric for privacy. There are also sites that offer the blinds with privacy backing for an extra cost. Good luck with your blinds!
