I talk about the love of my abode quite often and my heart goes out to the people who lost their homes. I know that a house is just a "thing" and that in the end it's life that's important, but I can't imagine losing my home. Losing the place that makes me feel comfort and love all around me, I pray for all of those who are missing loved ones, missing the place they called home and all of the memories that go along with that precious place of family and love.
Please pray for the state of Alabama, and if you can, donate to those who are in need. People are still being found alive, so hope is still in the heart of many alabamians.
As always, have a wonderful day abode lovers and be so thankful for what you have, I know I am!

prayers for alabama! i cant imagine the devastation of losing your home.
ReplyDeleteLast week was definitely a horrible week. I'm a UA grad and its heartbreaking seeing the devastation Tuscaloosa has endured. I live in Leeds and my neighborhood didn't receive a whole lot of damage (thankfully), but family members in Pratt City lost everything. Please keep those who lost their homes and/or family members in your prayers. #WeAreAlabama
ReplyDeleteDefinantly keeping Alabama in my prayers!

Praying! God is a good God and everyone will come out of this better and stronger than ever!
ReplyDeleteI read your blog on a daily basis and when I heard about the tornados over there, you were the first person I thought about. Crazy right? To worry about someone you don't even know.. I was like..."I hope the girl from Abode Love is okay." Anyways glad all is well and my thoughts are with everyone over there. Tornados suck.
ReplyDeleteLike Jet (who commented above) I read your blog daily but don't know you personally. I'm so glad to hear that you and your family are safe. My heart and thoughts go out to all those (incl your friends!) who were affected.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for those that have been affected. Every time tornado alarms go off it always makes me nervous. I'm glad that you are safe, and that your home was not damaged. My brother was in Birmingham looking for a new place when the storms hit. He and my s.i.l. and their kids are moving their next month. My prayers are with your friends and those that were affected. It would be so difficult to lose everything. Edie over at Lifeingraceblog.com lost her entire gorgeous home last December (night before Christmas) to a house fire, and are so blessed that they all escaped without harm. She has documented the grief involved in losing stuff. You are right, "thing" and that in the end it's life that's important".
ReplyDeleteP.S. New follower.
(Sorry, my one year old was calling me-I forgot to check for typos-I meant to say a house is just a "thing")
